Comparisons and blazer with shorts.

A friend and I were recently talking about success. He was feeling inadequate because he felt that his peers had succeeded while he was stuck in a rut. Which made me think, why do we compare ourselves to others? It's not healthy at all. We don't know their experiences or whether they even are happy where they are in life. Every person has a different background and is molded by his/ her experiences. What annoys me is that there is a certain 'standard' that we feel we must measure up to. But really, there is NO standard. Success means different things to different people. For some it may mean money, some recognition, while others doing what they truly love to do. {Which I think is the best goal to aspire to.} Comparing yourself to someone else is either going to make you bitter or vain, depending whether they're more or less successful than you are. Which is why I think the best thing to do is to just stop thinking about what others are doing and just focus on your own life instead. Think of it this way: by comparing you're wasting time on self-blame when you could've been spending it doing something productive that will take you towards your goals. So stop comparing and just be who you are.

On what I'm wearing, I've been meaning to do a blazer with shorts look for ages. And finally, here it is. I love how a blazer just ups the classiness level on any outfit! {As long as it's is well-structured. Loose, ill-fitting blazers make you look very frumpy.} I wore these black shorts on the bottom and  kept the top half simple by pairing a vest with my white blazer. I added a touch of glamour with these golden glittery heels and huge gold and white earrings to complete the look. Until the next post, ciao! xxx

  1. Very true Silverkick. 'Cept I can't help makin periodic comparisons, just to make sure I'm not completely crazy as well.

  2. That's a fab, smart look! Suggestion: Could you make a tutorial on colour combinations? Most of us suffer at combining the wrong colours to end up with gaudy outfits...
