Gray and Pink

I love this long-sleeved top I recently bought from Zara. It's great for this slightly cool weather we're having now. The material's not too warm and the leather paneling on the shoulders is a nice touch. It tends to look a bit masculine, which is why I paired it with these pink jeans. I got them recently and wanted to dance with joy when I found them. I'd been looking for pink jeans a loooooong time but I just couldn't find the right shade. They were usually fuchsia or shocking pink which I think are euugghh. I'm glad I waited! A flower necklace and black and silver bangles were the perfect accessories to make this look more feminine. I finished it with black strappy heels and a lazy bun. And how cute is this illustrated bag? I couldn't resist it once I saw the pretty illustration of the chic lady in an outdoor cafe on it. So Parisian, so charming!

Cute little {pink} things

One of my favourite places to get cute things for the home is Daiso. Located in Gudaibiya in Dasman Centre, this place is great for getting baskets, racks, boxes and what-not in the cutest colours* at low prices {usually 700 fils.}. I'm crazy about baskets, especially ones with cloth borders. I found these really cute light and deep pink ones made entirely out of cloth and got a couple of each. You can never have too many baskets. They're great for storing knick-knacks and look adorable. I also found these tiny pink racks with suction cups. They're actually meant for holding sponges but I thought they'd be perfect for make-up palettes. I stuck them on my bathroom wall and put all my palettes in. They don't fall, take up very less space and I'm glad they come in pink. {My pink obsession may be teetering on obsessive.} The pink wire mesh basket came in handy for holding mascaras and make-up brushes and the other baskets are on my dresser, holding  nail polishes and perfumes. Lastly I got these cute round tins and a floral-print box {it's actually a gift box}. So now I have all these things in my room and my brother refuses to stay too long because he says all the pink hurts his eyes. But that's probably because of my pink bedsheet and duvet. Whatever.
*pink, of course.

Black, white and nudes.

Top: Zara, Skirt: H&M, Stockings, Earrings & Handbag: Aldo, Shoes: New Look, Sunnies: Rayban.

I've gone all neutral in this outfit. Sooo not me! But a change is good now and then.  For this look I paired my silk top with my black pencil skirt and added floral stockings. They're a great twist to the usual black opaque ones. I finished the outfit with nude heels and this gorgeous handbag that I bought recently. I decided I needed to add a very formal handbag to my collection especially one that I can carry to work everyday {and one that can carry the myriad of things I like having on my person at all times!}. Anyway, I'm enjoying these 5 days of Eid holidays and if you're in the Middle East I hope you are too!

Trips to an island in the middle of a workday and a kitten in a coffee shop.

Fishermen's dhows
Al Dar Islands
Cassy!

Spontaneous trips to an island in the middle of a workday? Check. Climbing and getting off a boat in 5 inch heels? Check. Meeting the cutest little blue-eyed kitten in a coffee shop? Check.
All these crazy things happened today. We had to make a few trips to Al Dar Islands in the middle of a work day as we were sponsoring an event there. Everyone on the island was in shorts and bikinis and I was in a pantsuit. Believe me, if I had a dinar for all the are-you-frikkin'-insane?! looks I got I'd be buying myself something expensive tonight. Later in the evening after work my bestie and I met up for our weekly coffee and cake gossip session. And in walked a lady holding a tiny kitten! So we met Cassie the blue-eyed baby. I know the photos are a bit blurry but she was bobbing her head so much I couldn't focus. Anyhow, she was the most adorable little thing and we were sad to watch her go. Don't ask me why her owner {whose name we forgot to ask. We're very well-mannered.} brought her into the coffee shop, I still don't know! But I hope days like today happen more often.

Forest green jumpsuit

Jumpsuit: Zara, Belt: Mango, Shoes: New Look, Clutch: Aldo.
Photos: Arif Feroze
How much do I adore this forest green jumpsuit? At first I didn't even want to try it on. I thought I'd look like a  tree. But the nice lady at Zara said it looks amazing after wearing so I decided to give it a chance. And once on, I loved it! The material is soft and flowy yet not too thin. The sleeves fall elegantly and the width of the pants relaxes the whole look. I added a tan belt to break the monotony and matched my nude heels to the belt. The red oversized clutch was a nice contrast to the deep green and completed the look. The entire outfit is elegantly simple yet stands out. Which, thus and therefore, brings me to conclude: Don't judge clothing on the rack. Try it on.

Dubai for the weekend

I was in Dubai this weekend again, to get myself certified in CPR. I never knew how exhausting mouth-to-mouth resuscitation can be! And no, there were no cute boys we got to practice on. Just a plastic mannequin. *dramatic sigh*
After the training I had a lovely lunch with my brother and his wife at the Pavilion. I got to see some cool street art at this chic restaurant located opposite the Dubai Mall. The weather was gorgeous and so we sat outside. After a delish meal of cold mezzeh, chicken and tiramisu, they dropped me to the airport. This must've been one of my shortest personal trips to Dubai. But since I've travelled to Dubai and back for the last three weekends, I'm going to keep my sexy ass in Bahrain for sometime now, methinks!

Tan boots

Top: TSKD, Jeans: Zara, Boots: Aldo, Necklace: Gifted, Watch: Swatch.
Photographer: Arif Feroze.
Tan boots! Finally! I've been looking for these for ages! They go with anything, and are perfect for winter. I love the leather and the stiletto heel! For this look I wanted to show them off {aren't they a beaut?} so I paired them with a blousey top and simple blue jeans.
If you've been following the blog for some time you know by now I have gigantic bear feet; which means I have to scour the ends of the earth to find beautiful shoes in my size {Emphasis on the 'beautiful'. I get plenty of ugly shoes in my size. Bloody feet size-ists.}. So when I do, I snap them up in every colour possible. And I recently did this. Bought 14 pairs of shoes. My family think I'm mad, but who cares? Life is short. Buy the shoes, ladies, buy the shoes.
In the next posts you'll be seeing a lot of new high heels, so prepare yourselves. And in almost every post I'll say that I've been looking for the pair for ages, they're just what I wanted, blah blah blah. So don't accuse me of repeating myself, that's just how I am.
Happy Thursday!

BODYCOMBAT™ and Silver Kick!

If you've been wondering where I've been the past 2 weeks, well, I was busy training to become a
BODYCOMBAT™ instructor. I've been doing BODYCOMBAT™ classes for the last 4 years and thought it's time I started teaching it. {If you'd read my About Me & Silver Kick page you'd already know about my love for BODYCOMBAT™ instead of looking so surprised. Shame on you!}. To become a BODYCOMBAT™ instructor, I had to do a G.E.L course first. G.E.L stands for Group Exercise Leader. I did the 3 day course in Dubai with 14 others who flew in from all over the world, including Iran!
 There were 15 of us. Karen Gunning was our trainer. {on the right, in black.}
 Just the ladies.
Just me. ;)
 I passed with 90% marks {yes, there's a score} in the G.E.L Exam. Woohoo!
My reward for 3 days of training- the BF Monster from Burger Fuel. I took my time but I finished it. Never underestimate me.

And the next weekend {last weekend} I attended the BODYCOMBAT™ training module. Thank goodness there were just 4 of us or we'd be deader than we ended up after!
On stage.
  Our notes.
The 4 of us with our trainer, Steph. {middle}.
This was T-O-U-G-H. Three days and almost 6 hours of boxing, kicking, Karate, Muay Thai, drills, technique lessons, oooofffffff! I think I must've done about 3,000 hooks and uppercuts. But our trainer was amazing and a half, and I thoroughly enjoyed every single moment. And, I passed. WOOHOO! This means that now I'm qualified to team teach the classes, but not teach the classes on my own yet. For that I need to pass another assessment from New Zealand. I'm not going to bore you with the details but I'm just gonna say  I'm crazy happy right now and looking forward to unleashing the warrior within!
