The best thing about living on an island is that you're never too far from a beach. We were looking for a place to shoot pictures and we remembered we're close to a beach. So we headed there and once we reached we couldn't resist slipping our shoes off and playing in the sand and sea. Thankfully we remembered to take a few photos!

I get asked a lot on how to match colours in an outfit. Especially when you have a piece with busy prints, like this top. This is what I usually do: first I pick something neutral to offset the colours of the printed piece. Here it's the black skirt and stockings. It would have worked without the stockings too, but they add drama and balance the amount of skin shown on top. {Plus the weather's becoming chilly!} With the clothes done, I add on accessories. I like them to match the clothes, but not too obviously. The violet colour in the top is subtle so I decided to make it pop using the accessories and shoes, which is why everything has violet very obviously in it- violet heels, a violet stone necklace and a bangle with violet-red gems. And viola! {typo intended}, the ensemble's done!

I hope this was helpful! I'll do a few more posts on this topic whenever I can. Until then, ciao!

A structured jacket is great for pulling all your separates together. And tweed jackets are so in right now. I paired mine with black skinny jeans and a black vest for this look. I love the zipper details on the jacket and how my new watch with its cute red heart charms matches everything in this look. {My love for heart shaped red and pink things will never lessen, no matter how much people insist they're for teenagers. I don't care. I love them. So there. *sticks tongue out*} I added pops of colour with a red envelope clutch and these new sexy red heels. {Don't ask me how long I've waited to find the perfect red stilettos. I have pined and yearned for them the way Juliet did for Romeo.} Of course, the outfit wouldn't be complete without red, red lippy.

The weather's windy and cool and all sorts of amazing so I decided to wear my favourite colours today. They also reflect the abnormally giggly mood I've been in since yesterday. And maybe wearing happy colours perpetuates my happy mood further because all day I've been running into people who've made me laugh soooooo much more! It's like the Universe has somehow been getting signals to send these people my way. In any case, I'm not complaining. You have funny? Bring it on!

Today was hilarious. I received a sweater, vouchers to a spa, sweets and tickets to a race, all while sitting in my office. I almost didn't want the day to end! I mean, a sweater! How often does that happen? It was a crazy busy day but it was filled with laughter. I'm very glad I have people around me who laugh a lot. Because just listening to someone roaring with laughter puts you in a good mood. On a style note, I'm all in Zara again today. I kept the outfit simple but added the interest with these stunning t-strap snakeskin heels. Knowing me, the only way I'll wear a jeans and a simple tee is by adding lots of accessories and monster heels.

I started it a few days ago, but with a twist. Recently I learned about keeping a gratitude journal where you only have to list two things you're grateful for. And they can be the smallest of things, like lesser traffic on the way to work or kind words someone told you. The twist is that you also have to write down ONE thing you're NOT grateful for that day, and the lesson you learnt from it.
You probably know what a gratitude journal is. It's a book where you write 5-10 things you were grateful for that day, before going to sleep. I used to have one many years ago and I would list 10 things every night. It's a great exercise because it reminds you to focus on the good stuff. But it soon became tedious and believe me, some days 10 was too big a number. So I stopped.

I thought this was a brilliant idea because if you're anything like me, you're constantly analyzing and overthinking what didn't go well and how you can stop yourself from doing it again. So I've been writing in my little book every night for the last few days and I must say, it's helped me reduce worrying and sort out thoughts in my head. Give it a try, might be helpful to you!
On a style note, I love how these black boots are a sharp contrast to these light blue jeans because of which the look has an equestrian feel to it. The denim jacket relaxes the look and the red bag adds a nice pop of colour while also bringing out the top's colour. Speaking of contrasts, I saw a photo of a lady wearing an abaya in Dubai with boots. I thought that was a super cool look!
