Floral Print Pencil Dress

I had almost given up on pencil dresses when this one came along. Even though it hits above the knees, I love the shape and how it flatters my straight and rectangular body shape. The material is thick and has just the right amount of stretch. I've noticed that a few pencil dresses I wore earlier had too much elasticity in the fabric and because of that the dress sticks to your body. I don't like that kind of look. Plus you're not comfortable in it. You need to keep some room for dessert, know what I mean?

Of course, the print of the dress is what drew me to it. I love how the floral design is only on the edges as if it was just sprinkled for a pretty touch, and the centre is plain white, making it look and feel fresh. I usually avoid this sleeve length but on this dress it looks good, and the neck is one of my favorites- the boat neck. It has a long zipper in the back and a small slit on the bottom at the back. The fit of this dress and the ease with which I can move, stand and sit in it, makes me want to pick up a few more of these types of dresses. {And I will, soon}. I accessorized with silver tear-drop earrings and a statement watch, while picking out colors in the print with a blue stone cuff, an emerald green bag {which is all hard edges to add some strong lines to an otherwise feminine look}, and red pumps. If you're workplace is conservative, black opaque or translucent stockings with this dress would make you feel more comfortable.

On another note, work has just been madness with a lot going on, but I guess that's expected this time of year as there are so many events happening. The weather is FINALLY cooling down and I could even wear a scarf {!} around my neck the other day. I'm really looking forward to a bit of rain before it gets cold. I think this is Bahrain's autumn where the leaves don't change color, but the temperatures drop to 30s and high 20s, there's a cool breeze and we can finally see some clouds in the sky. But what I hate is that the sun goes down so fast! I love my sunlight!

Dress: Romwe, Earrings, Cuff, Bag: Gifted, Shoes: Steve Madden

Until next time,

xoxo
