Instagram Outfits Round Up

Instagram Outfits Round Up

So it's that time again when I round up my outfit photos from my Instagram @TheSilverKickDiaries. As I get busier and busier I find less and less time to take blog photos. Which is why I love sharing these quick ensemble photos that I post on my IG. But I'm still doing my proper blog shoots and photos too, don't you worry. I'll admit here that because it's colder, I'm A) Too lazy to take blog photos and B) too cold to stand in the cold and take them. The last few days have been slightly warmer though. Which is why I rushed out in the middle of work today and got my poor mom to take some photos. You'll see them later, but for now, moving on to these.

I love these chinos for weekends. They're quickly becoming my favourite replacement for jeans. This was in the summer where I paired these khaki chinos with one of my favourite pink shirts. I finished with a big bag and burgundy sneakers.

A soft feminine look with a white embroidered top which you saw before in this post. This time I wore it with blush pink pants. Yes, those are the same pants from the blog post, but in pink. I have these pants in several colours because they are freakin' comfortable.

I'm in LOVE with these bright pants which you saw in the previous blog post. I especially love the combination of white with this gorgeous fuchsia, and as I look at this photo I wonder why I didn't take more photos to do a blog post on this outfit.

A simple workwear look with a black cotton button-down worn over skinny blush pink pants. I rolled up the sleeves, not because I wanted to look 'cool', but because I had a shitload of work that day and I was feeling hot. I wore my staple statement watch, a ring and finished with embroidered grey heels to add some interest to an otherwise simple look.

You've seen this dress before in this post. I wore it here with a short cropped jacket and I love how that one addition changes up the look to make it look smarter, formal and less girly. Baby pink heels completed the look.

If you've been following me a long time, you'll remember this dress from this blog post from a few years ago. I updated the dress by adding one more layer of lace to the hem. It makes it feel grander, and I wanted the dress to be slightly longer. Plus I love this baby blue lace and I can't get enough of it. I co-own Lace Love with my mother, where we sell laces like these and even match and stitch them on to your clothes for you. So give us a shout on our Instagram or Facebook page if you want some lace for yourself.

A work outfit with a snug ribbed top, a cropped navy jacket and floral pants from this post. I wore sneakers as I had walked around in high heels the whole of that week and I needed to give my feet a rest. A few long layered necklaces and a pink bag completed the look.

It had just begun to get cold and this thin fuchsia pullover is perfect for a thin layer of warmth. I wore it with a navy blue silk button-down, and stone trousers to tone the brightness down. Check out Snarf looking over his kingdom in the back.

A girly lunch on a cold weekend at The Avenues meant jeans and sneakers for comfort, and my big black wrap coat to stay warm. P.S: It wasn't warm enough. That area is COLD. And funnily, the mall is colder inside. You need more layers and more winter wear when you come here! The floral t-shirt I wore was too summery but I love the print and the fit.

That's all for now. Catch you soon on my next blog post. Follow me on Instagram @TheSilverKickDiaries to keep up!

xoxo

Instagram Outfits: Before & After the House Move

Instagram Outfits: Before & After the House Move

It's been AGES since I did an Instagram outfit round-up. Which explains why there are so many outfits in this post. These posts are from before the house move to after the house move, which explains the change in the background and scenery, haha. The new apartment is surrounded by leafy trees giving the impression that we live in a tree house in a forest somewhere, and honestly I like to think of it that way as well. You can't escape Bahrain's heat so you may as well daydream being in an Amazon rainforest instead, right? Getting back to it, here's what I've been wearing!

A lavender dress that you may have seen before in this post. We added some lace at the hem from Lace Love {Click Lace Love to follow or lace business on Instagram} to make the dress slightly longer as well as add a bit of girlie charm to a plain dress. I accessorized the dress with a floral statement necklace, a statement watch and finished with black peep-toes.

A shopping trip at the mall on the weekend calls for comfy wide leg pants and a soft tee. A big statement necklace adds a bit of interest to the polka dotted top. Pants from Canada and top from Pull & Bear.

Out for meetings on a busy {and hot!} work day means comfortable pants and a sleeveless top are a great option. I paired this collared top from Koton with floral peg leg pants from Warehouse. A pretty opal and turquoise stone pendant matches the pants and a mauve bag and pointed black strappy flats complete the look.

Weekending in a soft white button-down shirt worn over printed pajama pants and my favorite flat sandals. A cutesie heart pendant and other delicate accessories complete the look.

I dressed up these black and white paisley pants with a deep turquoise blouse. I love the Bohemian feel of the pants so I added a tribal coin necklace and bangles to go with that feel, and finished with navy pumps to keep it looking elegant.

One of my favorite menwsear-inspired go-to business look - a button-down shirt and pants. The deep purple contrasts with the khaki of the chinos and a tan belt adds interest. I love the structure and clean lines of both the shirt and the pants. When you really want to dress to impress, go for structured everything. Shirt from Koton and pants from H&M.

I paired one of my favorite tops, this navy button-down silk blouse {which I'm sure you've seen before if you've been following me for a while} with one of my newer pieces, a white A-line skirt with embroidery at the hem. Fun fact: this skirt used to belong to my mom, who used to wear it as a traditional Indian full length lehenga. After she was bored of wearing it we decided to renovate it as a midi skirt for me.

This is a simple look pairing a neutral color contrasted against a deep hue. The light gray of the top really brings out the richness of the burgundy of the pants. I matched black pumps to the black leather detail cuff.

A baby blue button-down is a wardrobe essential and it's a good idea to have them in different textures. I paired my cotton one with a plum midi skirt for a preppy outfit.

I'm usually not a fan of peplum tops but this one doesn't have the peplum hem standing out too much. I fell in love with the print, the material and the feminine ruffle sleeves {which can't be seen here but I'll do a full outfit post with this top}. I wore it with skinny black pants, and finished with gold accessories and metallic gold pumps. And added Mili as an accessory.

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram @TheSilverKickDiaries and keep up with my style, travel and fitness posts! {Not to mention being spammed by Insta stories of Mili's antics.}

Until the next post,

xoxo

Instagram Outfits Round-Up

Instagram Outfits Round-Up

Our lives revolve around our social media so much nowadays that if we want to look back on what we've been up to, our Instagram and Facebook tell us a pretty decent story. Not the absolutely real story of how we're feeling of course, but still, a generally accurate timeline of stuff we've been up to. My Instagram account @TheSilverKickDiaries reflects a wonderful trip to Amsterdam and then the normal routine of work, classes, a few blog events, and socializing with friends. So here are just the outfits I've shared recently on my Instagram:

The temperatures had started climbing at the tail end of my trip, and I could FINALLY wear something other than the huge black coat that hid five layers underneath. I celebrated the warmth by wearing a white poncho top with ruffled sleeves, a blue full-sleeved top underneath, skinny jeans and ankle boots.

I wore this outfit to a concert of the Amsterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. I paired a wine colored maxi skirt with the same top as the first image {capsule holiday wardrobe!}, an embroidered shawl which is wool so it kept me warm, and added a touch of glam with a golden statement necklace.

Back in Bahrain, I paired a baby pink blouse with a baby blue blazer and then structured black, white and gray all around the two pastels with a gray skirt, black and white handbag, black pumps and a black chandelier pendant.

An elegant look for a night out, with a pleated maxi skirt in cobalt blue, paired with a satin blouse in cream, and minimal accessories.

A simple workwear look with a red and white print top paired with a black skirt, with the details in the sleeves {not seen in this photo}. These pointed wedge heels are becoming a firm favorite of mine because they're comfortable and don't make me feel too short.

Here I paired all neutrals of gray, white and black, and added pops of color with my handbag and shoes. The textures of the shirt, blazer and pants are all different to add more interest and structure to the look.

I paired one of my favorite pink tops with skinny jeans and tie-up flats for a casual weekend outfit that was super comfortable to walk endlessly around malls in.

A no-fuss ensemble of a peach-colored button-down paired with wide leg black pants and pointed flats, with my hair thrown into a side bun for a long day at work.

One of my favorite silk blouses worn with a gray skirt, delicate gold accessories and black peep-toe pumps for a minimalist work look.

Navy again with a soft t-shirt worn with khaki chinos, a white waterfall jacket, and a colorful necklace. Navy pumps match the top while the bag adds more color.

Some days you just need a hit of red and a big, bold print. I paired these pants with a cropped white top that has just the right amount of bling for a work day, and finished the outfit with one of the most comfy pair of heels I own.

Those are all the latest looks from my Instagram. I find it fascinating that looking back on your outfits you also tend to notice what colors and clothes have been on repeat, and how they were a reflection of your mood. {Note to self: maybe a little less of the blues, blacks and grays this month}.

What does your Instagram reflect?

Until next time,

xoxo

Wintery Instagram Outfits

Wintery Instagram Outfits

These outfits are from my Instagram, @thesilverkickdiaries. The weather has fluctuated so much this winter, that it's been confusing deciding what to wear. Just when you think you have to retire your winter stuff, it becomes cold again. Big coats, small coats, leather jackets, I pulled them all out of hiding. It got so cold at one point that I had to go shopping for a few layer-easy jumpers and sweaters too.

A classic jeans and leather jacket look for a lunch date with the family. I wore a full-sleeved t-shirt in a nude color, to contrast with the black jacket, and accessorized with a glass necklace and a tan bag.

This is one of my favorite blouses from Koton because it's comfortable, chic, and baby blue. It's a crossover blouse, with a collar {hidden by my hair} and a bow on one side {hidden by my arm}. I wore it with skinny black pants and bright peep-toe pumps.

Another crossover blouse, in black this time. I wore it with wide leg pants in beige and added a bright bag for color.

A colorful look with green and pink, and a statement necklace in pink to pop against the green. I toned it down with gray pants and finished with black booties.

I wore a mustard top with a plum skirt in this look, and finished with a big wrap coat and stockings to keep me warm, I added a white statement necklace to stand out against the yellow and match with the bag.

When you're in a rush, there's nothing simpler than a smart button-down paired with skinny jeans. I love the deep burgundy of this men's shirt from Koton. A few gold accessories and black round-toe pumps complete the look.

This was a cold, cold day that called for three-piece layering. I went for a black and pink look with a pink button-down, a black and white geometric pattern sweater, wide leg pants in blush and my trusty black wrap coat on top. The bag added the last bit of pink.

I'm in love with this chevron print skirt and you'll definitely see it again in a blog post. I wore it here with a red top, a statement watch and ring, and ankle booties.

Bright colors always make me happy on dull winter days. Here I wore a bright pink sweater over a gray satin button-down, and paired them with forest green wide leg pants. With so much color, it had to be nude pumps to complete the look.

Until next time!

Instagram recently + Weekend Trip To Dubai

Instagram recently + Weekend Trip To Dubai

November went by in a flash don't you think? The last few months of the year always seem to go by quickly. As if they're sliding downhill and picking up momentum as they go along. I've had a lovely November, with a short weekend trip to Dubai with my brother, to catch a performance by one of my favorite comedians and to meet some friends. Here are a few outfit pics from my instagram @TheSilverKickDiaries to start off.

I had a long, tiring day when I took this photo so please excuse the expression on my face. I paired a plain purple top with a baby blue blazer and my oldest dark wash skinnies for a business casual ensemble.

This polka-dotted top is fairly simple so I added a statement necklace for some glam. Don't I match well with all the green?

A burgundy top with mint trousers, and a sharp-shouldered blazer to pull it all together.

I'm loving these red pants from ASOS.com. I paired them with a gray-blue satin button-down and a navy collarless blazer for a streamlined work outfit.

Dubai Weekend Trip
I didn't take a whole lot of pictures while I was there, as I was focused on having fun and relaxing. But here are a few.

My travel wear- a printed silk top paired with russet jeans, and a gray cardigan which I recently bought from ASOS.com.

View from my hotel room- concrete and nature criss-crossing all over.

Real fossil of a dinosaur in the Dubai Mall.

How could I not make a stop at The Cheesecake Factory?

View of the sun making a grand appearance, from my friend's apartment on the 19th floor.

Colors and lights at the Dubai Marina.

Keep up with my posts with .

Recent Instagram Outfits + My Short Trip To Dubai

Recent Instagram Outfits + My Short Trip To Dubai

Here's a roundup of the latest outfits I've posted on my Instagram @TheSilverKickDiaries. It's been the usual routine and work the last couple of weeks but last week was one of the busiest of my life! I'm glad at the end of it was a long weekend and I could get away to Dubai with mom for some relaxation, girly fun and loads of shopping.

Livening up workwear with these bright tropical print pants and a cobalt blue tee. I toned the colors down with a gray blazer and accessorized with a double layered necklace.

In gray again with a satin button-down shirt that's my own design, and pink pants from ASOS. Navy pointed toe loafers completed the outfit.

I was feeling cold this day even though it was hot which is why I decided to keep my feet warm with boots. A floral top in mint, paired with blue skinny jeans, and a belt and bag both in tan made up the rest.

This shirt is one of my favorite button-downs and I have to stop myself from wearing it everyday. Here I wore it with my gray blazer and black skinnies, with a skinny belt. A burgundy bag and purple pumps brought out the colors of the shirt.

I paired this bright pink dress with a jade necklace, a statement watch and a sleek bangle. Nude pumps and my burgundy bag finished the look.

This was a Lady in Red night and I picked one of the simplest dresses I have, paired it with stockings and glamorous heels, and voila! Perfect girls-night-out ensemble!

My travel outfit- a slouchy and oh-so-comfy white shirt, boyfriend jeans and smart flats.
Classic but very, very comfortable.

Mom liked the hotel room.

Ever seen an empty metro before?

At the beautiful and old Creekside Souq

On the way back!

The long weekend is over, I'm back in Bahrain, and as a friend put it, 'back to reality'. Work seems to be swirling around me and I seem to be constantly buying new clothes {partly because I need them, but mostly because it feels like a reward for all the work I've been doing} but never getting the time to wear them and do a proper blog shoot. Arrgh! The eternal dilemma of a style blogger!

Until next time, xoxo
