My minimalist make up routine

My make up routine has drastically changed in the last year or so. By change I mean that it's become much shorter with fewer products. For instance, I've stopped wearing foundation and eyeliner altogether. Eyeliner because I think my eyes are already defined and I like enhancing them with mascara instead. I feel like eyeliner tends to make me look older and too made up.

 I stopped wearing foundation because I have good skin and I don't like covering it up. I want to let it breathe. Plus foundation feels too heavy in this heat and rubs off everywhere. It's just a hassle I can do without. I've given up on eyeshadow too, for the same reason. I like minimalism!

Make up for me serves two purposes: to make me look fresher and enhance my features, which I completely achieve from my current routine. And here's how I do it, starting from scratch.

Me without make up:

How I do it:
Step 1. After I've moisturized and put sunscreen on, I start with concealer to cover the shadows under my eyes. I use Inglot's cream concealer, MW 101. I dab it on with my ring finger.
Step 2. I curl my eyelashes with Shu Uemura's Eyelash Curler.
Step 3. I add lots of mascara- 3 coats to be exact, and I like my mascara waterproof. My current fave is Maybelline's Colossal Volum' Express. Maybelline waterproof mascaras don't kid around. I've bloody showered with this thing on and it didn't run.
Step 4. A quick sweep of bronzer, just under my cheekbones. I use Bourjois Delice de Soleil in 12.
Step 5. I apply blush on the apples of my cheeks. I've been using Clarins Coral Sunset for some time now. It stays put even though my skin's oily.
Step 6. I fill in my lips with any one of these Clarins lip liners: 05 Azalea or 02 Ruby. {I wear lipliner all over my lips as my upper lip is darker than my lower lip so it makes for a good neutral base to put lipstick on.}
Step 7. Lipstick. I'm obsessed with rich burgundy, red and deep pinks. They suit my skin tone, add a certain elegance and really define my lips.

So all I'm using are a few quality products to enhance what I feel are my best features: eyes, lips and cheekbones.

There you have it. Minimalist make up.
Try it!
