I finally bagged a baby blue button-down blouse {how's that for alliteration?!} If you don't know what that means, it means having the same letter in adjacent words- baby blue button-down blouse. {Yes, it's also in the title. Well-spotted.} English lesson aside, the softness and tailoring of this blouse are perfect. I would get it in more colors but H&M only has it in blue and white, and the white is too translucent. Sigh. My search for the perfect white button-down shirt continues.
Today I paired this shirt with burgundy jeans for a color contrast. I love wearing shirts half tucked in the front. I feel that it softens an otherwise masculine look. I accessorized with a statement necklace inside the collar and a ring on each hand. Black pumps and a statement bag completed the look.
This is a relaxed and simple look that you can wear to work {if your workplace is okay with colored jeans. If it isn't, just replace the jeans with colored formal pants}. The thing about a button-down blouse is that if you find one that flatters your frame, it becomes the star of your work wardrobe. You can pair it with lots of different bottoms, and it looks super-professional when worn under a blazer.
On another note, this is what I love the most about Bahrain: that we're surrounded by water. We may not have expanses of green but we do have beautiful ocean all around. And I love that writing this blog means looking for picturesque locations to take photos in, and finding some really gorgeous hidden gems. Like this beautiful pier hut we found in Muharraq.
I'll admit that I was scared while walking on it in these killer heels, and for a second a picture of me falling into the water flashed in my mind before I got on to the pier. But thankfully, I stayed dry.
