Recently whenever I went to dress up from my wardrobe, I realized I had lots of dark tops but very few light jeans to wear them with. I hate wearing blue shirts with blue jeans, so I wanted something I could wear my blue tops with as well. On my quest to find a light-colored pair of jeans, I came across these blush pink colored pants. Blush pink has always been a favorite of mine and I love the fit and {appropriately} stretchy material of these trousers. I don't mind that they're not jeans, since pants tend to be of a cooler material. So much more comfortable in Bahrain's heat. And I don't know if you've noticed, but I've been gradually shifting my personal style to more formal and work chic, so I really don't mind the addition of formal pants.

In this look I wore them with a button-down in a deep wine color. I love the combo of purple and pink but since both the shades are toned down versions of the colors, it's not too in-your-face-girly-candy-shades. The shirt is slim-fit, in cotton, perfect for work and for the heat. I felt that the pairing of a collared button-down and trousers can be a bit on the masculine side, which is why I went slightly heavier on the accessories than usual. I wore a double stacked necklace and added drop earrings. Usually I stay away from hanging earrings if I'm wearing an interesting necklace but I wanted more jewelry to feminize the look. On my hands I wore a statement watch, a ring and a delicate bracelet. A sharp and formal look like this can only be completed with pointy heels, so I finished with these black ones with the ankle strap. The ankle length of the pants means that the straps are shown, adding a girly touch. A baby blue handbag adds a pop of bright, and finished this clean and formal ensemble.

What about you? Would you pair these two colors? What's your favorite spring/summer clothing item? Let me know in the comments below!
