Our love for fashion is directly proportional to the hate
we have for packing; yes, that’s right – we hate packing and we’re not afraid
to say it. Unfortunately, if you are traveling a lot (or you, generally, like
to travel whenever the opportunity presents itself but don’t travel often), you
have to get those suitcases ready or you’ll end up
looking like a circus. It’s all good, we’ve got you covered. We, ourselves, are fashionista
gals and we absolutely understand the need to look perfect when you are going
away and the horror of packing everything up so it doesn’t fail your fashion
vision. So, with that in mind, we’ve put together a little tutorial that will
help you get all of your essentials in one place and help you look your best!
Without further ado, here we go:
Nowhere without dresses
Summer should be all about breathable but luxurious
fabrics (and cuts!) that emphasize your gorgeous curves but still let them
breathe. We love the idea of rich maxi dresses that ooze chill but still give
your look a note of lavishness and comfort. Depending on the occasion, you can
wear them in various colors, patterns and cuts and cause intrigue each time you
show up. Dressed up and down with the right accessories, your dresses will
easily look like catwalk material. When in doubt, combine your beautiful copper
jewelry with your
ankle-length dress for a jaw-dropping effect and add a little whimsy with
floral, fringe or lace cardigans.
For a little leg action, choose dresses up to the knee;
shorter may work if you are aiming for I-look-too-hot-to-care look. And the
materials? Lace, see-through/sheer options, cotton and silk.
Accessories for life
Even if you show up wearing just your bathing suit and
accessorize it with some awesome jewelry, you’ll still grab the looks of
everyone present! With that in mind, make sure you pack up your most
favorite chunky jewelry (it’s summer after all), sparkly stuff and attention-grabbing items.
Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings – pack your favorite pieces that always,
no matter what, make you feel gorgeous! We love the idea of a wide choker
paired with a silk dress and heels or a diamond ring paired with diamond
bud-earrings and a bodycon. There’s plenty of options to go with and we’ve got
no doubt you’ll make it count.
Shoes cause drama
Depending on the number of days you’re vacationing for,
make sure the shoes you pack serve their purpose. Although, we’re always pro
flats, we’d advise you bring a pair or two (no more) of heels for special
occasions (like a
yacht party). Other than that, gladiator sandals in golden, silver or sand
color will work perfectly. Plus, they pair beautifully with any item of clothes
you pick – whether they are casual shorts and a T or a lux gown for the night.
As for the heels, they do make a statement on their own – just make sure you
wear them appropriately. Going to a beach party – no matter how lux – isn’t one
of those heel-occasions, now, is it?
Your makeup and hygiene kit, above all else
When you are going on summer vacation, makeup is almost
obsolete. After all, with the tan on and that beautiful summer glow, makeup
plays a very tiny role and it’s there only to emphasize what’s already
gorgeous. Nevertheless, you shouldn’t travel without your makeup kit by your
side. Speaking from experience, your must-makeup
kit should
contain:
- skin-tone cream
- bronzer
- eyebrow gel
- mascara
- lipgloss/lipstick
- highlighter
And, that pretty much sums it up. There’s really no need
to torture your skin with various makeup products – it’s too hot for that!
As for the hygiene kit, make sure you’ve got
- Coconut oil
- SPF 50 (or less, depending on your skin type) sunscreen
- Body spray
- Body cream
- Body wash
- Wet wipes (keep them close at all times; getting sweaty isn’t attractive in
any form, really)
- Pads/tampons
- Toothbrush, toothpaste, floss
- Vaseline (perfect for sunburns, makeup foundation, body lotion and
moisturizer replacement)
- Shaving supplies
- Hair products (nowhere without your hair conditioner!)
That
would be it. It is time to forget about all the worries and have a sweet escape
from your everyday life. Make it dreamy, exciting and fashionable!
