I've been grouping my books by colour ever since I got the idea from a TV show. How I love my pinkies! |
I just finished a romance novel last night. Actually, I finished it this morning. I stayed up all night reading and finished it by 4 a.m. Hehe. I can't help it. I'm addicted to romance novels. I'm a romantic at heart (please don't tell anyone). I also adore chick lit, but only those books that are really funny and where romance plays a big part. Sophie Kinsella is a fave, then there's Helen Fielding and Meg Cabot. Hilarious. You'll actually laugh out loud reading them.
But you know what attracts me the most to these chick lit books? Their colourful, glossy covers. Yes, you read that right. Their covers. I have a mental age of 5, so bright colours and glitter and illustrations of glam ladies on book covers is like yummy candy to me. And since I gobbled up my latest candy I had to run out and get more. So I drove down to this second-hand bookstore I recently discovered, and got 2 books by Helen Fielding.
For BD 1.500 only.
For both.
Yay me!
I'm already looking forward to lying on my bed and getting totally engrossed and laughing out loud while reading them.
On another note, I've been resisting the 70s trend lately, especially flared jeans. I thought they'd look yucky on me. But out of curiosity I tried them on, and I fell in loooooove. They fit so well. I'd forgotten how they flatter legs because of the way the wide bottom balances out my thighs. (Yep, I HAVE worn them before, they were trendy when I was in school, I think). So here I am, prancing about in my flared jeans. But don't expect me to wear a medallion around my neck anytime soon.
