How I made my dream come true

Many significant things happened last year, the biggest of which was me quitting my high-paying job as a marketing manager. At that time I believed I was done with marketing, but I clearly wasn't, as now I'm a freelance marketing and social media consultant. And I'm incandescently, ecstatically happy doing it. But it wasn't easy getting there.

After I resigned, I took some time off, relaxed and cleared my mind. Then the big question started hounding me- what can I do? I knew what I didn't want to do {a job} but I had no clue what business I would start. As more time went by and my eureka! moment still hadn't struck, I started doubting myself- Did I just make a huge mistake by resigning? Maybe I'm just not cut out to be a business owner. Maybe I was stupid and naive to think I can do this.

It came to a point where I believed all my doubts and started looking for a job. I interviewed for a few jobs but nothing clicked. I started to get really worried now. It was during this time that a friend told me about a friend who needed help in marketing. I told her that I could help her out. I did, she was happy with my work, and referred me to someone else. And that's how it all started.

Today my business is growing at a great pace, I'm enjoying being my own boss, being able to do fitness classes any time of day, and taking naps whenever I want to. And of course, I'm doing what I love.

Why am I telling you all of this? Because I think more and more people should pursue their dreams. But I know it's not easy. One thing will always stand in your way- You.

Never, ever, EVER, doubt yourself. You have everything it takes to fulfill your dreams. Sometimes you get scared. That's ok. Everyone does. But just keep doing what you're doing in spite of the fear. In the end, you'll make it happen.
