My love affair with Koton continues with this skirt. I've always been a big fan of maxi skirts- they're versatile, elegant and comfortable. But finding the right one can be difficult. This purple one is great, the pleats in front add interest and make the skirt's circumference wider, while the billowy material drapes beautifully and moves with you. The bow at the waist adds more elegance. I contrasted it with a powder blue top for a casual summery look in this look. I accessorized with colorful tiered earrings and bangles that bring out the vividness of the skirt, and finished with a hard clutch bag and heels in neutral colors. This is a great soft, feminine look for an evening out or for date night.
Bahrain being an Arab country, maxi skirts are quite popular and I do think that they can be worn for work. I would switch the clutch for a formal tote or larger handbag. A smart jacket thrown on top will make the look more formal and will keep you warm in an air-conditioned workplace.
In other news, I've been busy with family and birthdays recently. It was my dad's birthday last week and we surprised him with getting his sister {my aunt} and my uncle for a visit. I've been spending lots of quality time with family and catching up with them, while also showing them around the island. It's always wonderful to look at your own city through a visitor's eyes. And today is my brother's birthday. So it's been lots of celebrations, and cake all around! It's been an interesting and fun summer so far!
Until next time,
xoxo
