This skirt has been a favorite of mine for many years now. The original skirt hits quite a few inches above the knee, but as my style evolves I find myself wanting more knee-length styles that are more work-appropriate. I didn't want to get rid of the skirt though. My solution? Lace! You already know I'm lace crazy and seeing that lace is BIG right now, it was the perfect solution. {Honestly, even if lace weren't as in as it is now, I'd still put it because it just looks So. Damn. Beautiful!} I love the Victorian style of this delicate black lace and the length was perfect to make this skirt knee length. I'm especially loving the scalloped ends. And of course, I love the elegance and delicacy the lace brings with it. It's completely transformed the skirt.
I paired the skirt with a light blue top, and accessorized with delicate jewelry with stones in colors that set off the skirt's print- a lariat necklace, bracelets, and an earrings and ring set. I finished with black ankle boots and a red doctor bag that brings out the red in the skirt's print.
If, like me, you want to lengthen a skirt or a dress, try lace. Or simply to add a bit of elegance and prettiness to a plain style. I'll be bringing you more information on how you can do that and where this kind of lace is available in Bahrain. Stay tuned. ;)
Until next time, xoxo
