Baby Blue and Pink in a Soft Feminine Look + Life/ Blogging Update

When I was typing the credits for my outfit today I realized everything other than my bag and shoes has been gifted. Haha. I didn't realize it when I was putting the outfit together! Summer is well and truly here and all my dressing is dictated by one and one factor only- to keep cool. Unless I know that I'm going to be going to an indoor place that's freezing because of the air-con, of course. My work usually involves a lot of meetings outside which means having to drive around in this punishing heat. So I dress to keep cool.

This top is a soft cotton blend and feels lovely against the skin. So even though it's high-necked and long-sleeved. I was nice and cool in it. And it protected my arms from getting sun burnt. Of course, the heat also dictates the colors I choose to wear. I find myself reaching for light pastels almost always {I do that in the winter as well so maybe it's just me and not the weather}, and reaching for white a LOT. The creamy white of this top is lovely and soothing, and I love the little sprinkling of flowers in embroidery at the yoke. The ruffles at the neck and sleeves add more interest to the top. Baby blue and baby pink are huge favorites of mine and white with baby blue is a combination I've been meaning to do for some time. So elegant, so Santorini-esque! {I'm loving the Santorini feel of these photos! It was purely a coincidence that I match the background. Haha}. I just wasn't able to get my hands on baby blue clothes. Which is why I was ecstatic when I got these pants. They're very wide at the leg as you can see, and have an elasticated waist. The pleats in the front of the trousers give it a lovely formal touch so I feel comfortable wearing them to work meetings.

I accessorized with silver crystal tear drop earrings and a floral ring to match the embroidery on the blouse, and finished with a hot pink bag and heels to bring out the pink on the top. So this is a pretty coordinated look in pink, blue and white, with the pants, bag and shoes bringing out the colors in the embroidery on the blouse. With baby blue, pink, and flowers, it can't get more feminine than this!

The long Eid holidays are over and life has gotten back to normal from this week onwards. For most people July and August are travel months, but not for me, as I have travel plans for the end of the year, and more importantly, me and my family have to move house soon. Arrgggh! After spending the entirety of Ramadan looking at houses, we finally settled on one and now we face the big task of moving.{Ramadan was a big blur of work, looking at houses, late night classes, and being too tired to sleep. I can't think of a time when I was that exhausted}. While it's fun to organize and decorate a new home once you've moved in, it's not so much fun to pack up all your things and do the physical moving, that too in this blazing heat. {Anyone who thinks global warming is a hoax, please, come to Bahrain in July and August.} And another annoying thing about having to move is... I can't shop! It makes no sense to go shopping when I know I have to pack up and move all my stuff. I'm craving for some new shoes but I don't want to buy them and risk them getting damaged in the moving. And It doesn't help that all the shops are on sale now. Grrr... Still, that hasn't stopped me from getting a few things from the ASOS sale. Hehe. There's only so much a girl can resist.

P.S- If you're wondering why this post has been so long, well that's my mid-year resolution- to write longer posts! I realize my previous posts have been too short and uninteresting, and so I'm going to force myself to write longer posts, even if that means only one post a week.
