Pink, White and Floral, And My Exciting Weekend Plans

Sometimes the simplest outfit of trousers paired with a button-down shirt and a scarf can go a long way. But what sets a simple look apart are the colors and the way it's coordinated. I'll always be a lover of pastels and always a lover of pink. These dusty rose pants are a gorgeous linen material and aren't too tight a fit on the legs. I paired them with a white cotton button-down from Koton. I love the material and the fit of the button-downs from Koton so much that I have them in 4 colors. Button-downs are practical and smart work-wear basics, so it's a good idea to get them in various colors. Find one that's of good quality and that fits well, and then stock up! They're perfect to grab and wear on those days when you hit the snooze button one too many times and have to rush out the door for the office. And of course, button-downs go with everything.

Coming back to the outfit, I usually like to tuck my in shirts but since I wanted to wear this long scarf around my neck, I left the shirt untucked so the scarf looked good hanging against it. This scarf is quite long, which is so great if you're tall like me, and has a lovely large floral print. I chose this scarf because the pink in it matches the pants, making for a professional, coordinated look, and the blue adds some more color to the whole ensemble. I tied a simple knot in the scarf to let it drape down and add some interest to the plainness of the white shirt.

I usually reserve my scarves for when the weather gets cooler as they're perfect for fall style. I can't imagine wearing a scarf in this blistering heat, but since everything I'm wearing is natural fiber; including the scarf; I wasn't hot in the least. The material is a thin, soft cotton, and you barely feel the weight of it. I finished with nude round-toe pumps that are one of the most comfy pair of heels I own. I was running around having meetings during peak sunny hours on this day, which is why I made sure my outfit was all cotton and comfortable. You have to dress for comfort when you know it's going to be a long day!

This last week has been exhausting what with the moving, the relaunch of the new BodyCombat and BodyBalance releases, {which meant extra classes and lots of working out trying to learn the new choreography}, running around for my Secret Project and completing one major part of it, while managing both my businesses as usual. I haven't had much sleep and I'm really looking forward to catching up on snoozes this week/ weekend. If you were wondering why my posts have been few and far in-between, it's because of all the above! On days when I had time to post, I was too bone tired to do it. Hopefully I get the time to take blog photos this weekend or next week, and have some new outfits to post.

Thankfully, we're done moving house and now comes the long and arduous task of arranging the house to look like a home. I reckon it will take us a month at least to get everything in place. Although I enjoy organizing stuff, and doing up a house is fun, it's arduous because I Have. No. Time! I'm busy during the week with work and classes, and too exhausted to arrange furniture and knick knacks at night. I'm desperately waiting for the weekend so I can dedicate it to staying home and getting my room sorted. Exciting weekend plans, right?
