Blush in boots

Blush in boots

Jacket: Mendocino
Top: Dynamite
Earrings, Bangles: Gifted
Jeans: Bershka
Boots, Bag: Aldo

Temperatures have dropped even more in Bahrain {we're finally under 30 C! Hurray!} and we even have clouds in the desert sky now! This is easily my favorite part of the year. And so, the layering has begun and boots are out! But it's still warm so I've kept the layers thin, as you can see.

This blush pink top from Dynamite is simple and light, and because it's sleeveless, it's easy to wear a thin jacket on top of it. White and pink is one of my favorite combinations and blush pink and white make for a very soft, feminine allure. To add contrast I wore black skinny jeans and finished with tan suede boots. If you're running around all day, remember that the best heels to go for are stacked heels like the ones on the boots. Don't forget to wear thin socks{or thick, depending on how warm you want to be}, inside the boots to make it even more comfortable.

Keeping with the feminine look, I wore pearl earrings and put my hair up in a ponytail. There's already a lot going on in the outfit with the neckline of the top, the draped lapels of the jacket and the boots, so I kept jewelry to a minimum. In addition to earrings I wore a sparkly bangle on each hand. Lastly, I grabbed my powder blue bag and I was all set. This is a good look for the office, if your workplace allows you to wear boots. Otherwise just swap the boots for heels or flats.

Until next time,

xoxo

Effortlessly chic red floral pants

Effortlessly chic red floral pants

 Top: Zara
Pants: Maarli
Necklace: Posh
Bracelet: Gifted
Watch: Gifted
Bag: Aldo
Shoes: Kate & Mel
Photos: Arif Feroze

You already know that red is my color and that I have a weakness for floral prints. So when I saw these red floral print pants at a Maarli showing in Bahrain, I couldn't resist. The material is a light, airy cotton, and that makes the pants very comfortable and easy to move around in. I wanted a nice polished ensemble that you can wear to work so in this look I paired the pants with a black top. The black tones down the brightness of the pants and the three-quarter sleeves and boat neck gives it a formal edge. I wore a neon pink necklace to go with the vibrant color on my bottom half, and a black and gold bracelet and watch on my hands.

When I bought these pants I knew they'd look nice with pointy pumps, and these black ankle strap pumps add so much elegance to the entire outfit. The best part about cropped pants is that you can wear all your ankle strap and high-backed heels with them. I finished the look with my baby blue bag, adding some more color and keeping in line with the formal look. I love how these pants have an effortless look and feel to them, and how they can make a formal look look relaxed yet elegant. I can't wait to try more ensembles!

Gray and Burgundy

Gray and Burgundy

Dress: H&M
Earrings: Vintage
Watch: Fossil
Bracelet: Accessorize
Bag: Aldo
Shoes: c/o Call It Spring
Photos: Arif Feroze

In this outfit I wanted these beautiful heels from Call It Spring to be the hero so I built this look from the ground up. I chose a gunmetal gray dress to contrast with the deep burgundy of the shoes. I've worn this dress before, but with a scarf and another time with a pussybow blouse worn on the inside. This is the first time I'm wearing the dress on its own. I love its simplicity and clean lines, and the tailored fit. {Surprisingly it's from H&M!}. With such a simple and elegant dress only pearls would do. So I wore my mom's diamond and gold pearl earrings, and a pearl bracelet which has a plum ribbon to match the shoes. My marsala bag completed the look, bringing everything together.

I recently got these shoes from Call It Spring, and I'm head over heels {excuse the pun} in love with them. The color's beautiful and I like how the zipper detail running along the bottom accentuates the point in the front. I'm obsessed with pointy toe heels currently. Which is why I was glad to see that these also come in three other colors- black, teal and a shiny black checkered pattern.

In the Fall/Winter collection, Call It Spring has a new and more current take on retro, kind of like blurring and redefining trends from the past with the style of today. What I love about Call It Spring is that they not only have a wide variety of shoes, handbags and accessories, but they're trendy and the prices are reasonable. What's more, they'll be launching this new Fall/Winter collection on this Friday, 18 September, at their sleek new concept store at City Centre Bahrain. And from 5- 9 pm, you'll find surprise one day offers, making all their goodies even more accessible. But it's only for one day. So grab them while you can!

Neutrals and red

Neutrals and red

Skirt, Top: Zara
Jacket: Mendocino
Ring: Mango
Watch: Fossil
Bag: Aldo
Heels: SteveMadden

Photos: Arif Feroze

Black and white are always chic for the workplace. But red.. ah, red adds so much energy and zest. In my last post I showed you 6 different looks with pencil skirts, but I realized I hadn't worn my red skirt in a long time. So I fished it out of the wardrobe. I paired the skirt today with a fitted black top, and wore this gorgeous lightweight white jacket on it. I love the fall of the lapels. It adds movement to the jacket and the soft material makes sure it doesn't look boxy.  Plus the material is thin- great for summer! I accessorized with this beautiful braided rope necklace from House of Aleya 1961, a new brand in town that I've fallen in love with. The colors of the necklace look great against the black and it adds interest to the entire look. For the rest of the accessories, I wore a statement ring in black on one hand, and a statement watch on the other, keeping jewelry to a minimum. I opted for nude heels as there's already a lot of color on my body. I love the way the color of these heels make my legs look longer. And lastly, I finished with a baby blue formal bag.

For transitioning this look from day to dinner, just remove the jacket and add on a more sparkly necklace. And if you're feeling brave, swap the shoes for a pair in a color that contrasts with the red.

Until next time.

Stay stylish.

xoxo
