Last night, I finally started a painting for a friend. He had asked for it 6 months back. I can't believe I procrastinated for so long. I'm really not the procrastinating type. If I have something to do, I usually get on it straightaway. So I was pretty pissed off at myself for not starting this sooner. I kept making excuses like- it's an oil painting, it's so big, I'll do it when I have more time, blah blah. Also, my friend didn't ask or remind me about his painting. (Lame, I know, but I really do work best under pressure). Just a few days back he asked if the painting was finished and I felt so guilty for waiting so long.
The irritating part is, I KNOW that once I start what I've been delaying, I find it so easy to do and I feel foolish for not having begun earlier. It's just the start, the breaking out of the comfort zone that seems like such a pain. Once that's done, it's smooth sailing. I even think I'll finish the painting by this weekend. And you know what? I think that it's gonna turn out very well.
On another note, I love this skirt. It twirls! It's so much fun to walk around in because it swishes happily around my legs. And I love today's weather. Even though it's hazy (which explains the quality of the photos), there's a gorgeous cool breeze with cloudy skies. For a desert, this kind of weather is unusual but very welcome. I feel like dancing on the streets!
Happy weekend!
