I faced my biggest fear. DON'T read if you're squeamish.

Ok. I did it. I faced my BIGGEST fear yesterday. I should bloody get an award for this. Here's what happened:

It was in the evening. I was at my beautiful place, alone. I opened the bathroom door. There it was.

A huge roach, with long, moving antennae.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!

This was my internal scream as I quickly shut the door and just stood there, outside the bathroom, with a hand on my heart, paralyzed with fear. I thought I'd have a mini-stroke.

So there I was. Just standing, trying to breathe, thinking 2 things-
1. Please let me die. 2- THIS is why I should have a husband.

But no, death didn't come, nor did my Prince Charming swoop in with bug spray. It was just me and the disgusting critter. I took a deep breath. I opened the door, wore my bathroom slipper, and before I could let the fear overtake me, I brought my foot down on it.

I lifted it, and it was dead. DEAD. YAAAAAAAAY! I killed it! But now I had to pick it up and throw it. (Seriously, THIS is why I need a husband.)

But I did it. I picked it up (after wearing gloves and grabbing a thick wad of tissue paper) and threw it in the trash. Ok, NOW I can finally say this. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
YUCK. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Yuuuuuuuuuck.

Ok. I'm done.

I'm not scared of anything in life. EXCEPT big roaches and Daddy Longleg spiders. Just thinking about them now gives me the creeps. But I guess it's time I overcame the fear. But please, Universe, NOT this way.

On a style note, a thick, black belt is a lifesaver!

  2. Jealous? Of me getting cozy with a roach? I think you need your head checked. Thank God you weren't with me last night, 2 panicking females is worse than one!

  3. This is hysterical because I could so picture myself being the same way! And, husbands aren't always good for this sort of thing. Trust me.

  6. Shabana, first, the belt rocks! Love the shirt print.

Then, the roach...LOL!! They called me 'the terminator' in university, for a year, only because I was on call if there were bugs around the place. I've been woken up at 2 am for this.
