Hi! I'm Shabana. I live in Bahrain. I'm a businesswoman by day and a fitness instructor by night. I believe that dressing up is the easiest way of loving yourself, and this blog is where I journal my outfits and my life. If you'd like to know more, click on the About Me tab on top. I hope you enjoy my blog!

I faced my biggest fear. DON'T read if you're squeamish.

Shirt: Mango, Pants: Zara, Shoes: Dorothy Perkins, Belt: H&M, Ring: New Look

Ok. I did it. I faced my BIGGEST fear yesterday. I should bloody get an award for this. Here's what happened:

It was in the evening. I was at my beautiful place, alone. I opened the bathroom door. There it was.

A huge roach, with long, moving antennae.

This was my internal scream as I quickly shut the door and just stood there, outside the bathroom, with a hand on my heart, paralyzed with fear. I thought I'd have a mini-stroke.

So there I was. Just standing, trying to breathe, thinking 2 things-
1. Please let me die. 2- THIS is why I should have a husband.

But no, death didn't come, nor did my Prince Charming swoop in with bug spray. It was just me and the disgusting critter. I took a deep breath. I opened the door, wore my bathroom slipper, and before I could let the fear overtake me, I brought my foot down on it.

I lifted it, and it was dead. DEAD. YAAAAAAAAY! I killed it! But now I had to pick it up and throw it. (Seriously, THIS is why I need a husband.)

But I did it. I picked it up (after wearing gloves and grabbing a thick wad of tissue paper) and threw it in the trash. Ok, NOW I can finally say this. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
YUCK. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Yuuuuuuuuuck.

Ok. I'm done.

I'm not scared of anything in life. EXCEPT big roaches and Daddy Longleg spiders. Just thinking about them now gives me the creeps. But I guess it's time I overcame the fear. But please, Universe, NOT this way.

On a style note, a thick, black belt is a lifesaver!

  1. I'm so damn jealous. I wanted to be there last night!!!! And lovely photos!

  2. Jealous? Of me getting cozy with a roach? I think you need your head checked. Thank God you weren't with me last night, 2 panicking females is worse than one!

  3. This is hysterical because I could so picture myself being the same way! And, husbands aren't always good for this sort of thing. Trust me.

  4. Oh, Shabana! You are hilarious! Yet another well-written piece; I can't stop laughing.....

Oh yes, the belt looks great on your long and lean physique. Lucky you!!!

  5. Melinda, thank you for saying that. I feel so much more empowered. Go girl power!

  6. Shabana, first, the belt rocks! Love the shirt print.

Then, the roach...LOL!! They called me 'the terminator' in university, for a year, only because I was on call if there were bugs around the place. I've been woken up at 2 am for this.

  7. Hi Anne!
The terminator... Nice. I have newfound admiration for you! Can you please, please puhleeeeeeeez tell me a way to get rid of the fear? I'm still opening the bathroom door very cautiously...

Leave me a comment! I love reading what you've got to say!
