Japanese Dolls Exhibition

Last week I visited the Japanese Dolls Exhibition with my parents at the Bahrain National Museum. I've loved  I love dolls since I was a kid. {I still have all my Barbies. Believe it or not.} so I was super excited to go to this exhibition. And it didn't disappoint. The dolls were all so pretty and so delicate and colourful and had so much detail in them and... I'll shut up now and let the pics do the talking. Oh, that's a pic of my mom and dad at the entrance of the museum, below.
Most of the dolls had a story to tell or were a character from a story like Momotoro, the peach boy. {I'd read his story several times as a kid and was delighted to see a doll of him here.} The intricacy of the hair, face and clothes was amazing as were the insights to the Japanese culture. Samurai warriors, monsters, princesses, children, they were all depicted. The best thing was it wasn't a huge display with too many dolls that you get bored. They were just enough and I loved it. I hope I get to catch more such exhibitions soon!
